Hi,

It is two weeks now since my ibook's G4 battery decided to "take a vacation" that I hope it comes back from soon.

On the screen, on the right hand upper corner, I can see an "X" inside the battery sign, as opposed to the little icon of a "plug".

Perhaps I pressed a command that "voids" battery use, or perhaps my battery is gone (forever)

Thank you in advance, kind regards,

igmolinav

Apple Menu(in the menubar)|About this Mac|More Info|Power.... battery section... what does it say?

Does your iBook run on the battery?

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

I went to the Apple menu. I mention the following:

Battery installed: No

It used to be, (before this issue), that I used my ibook plugged in to an electricity source next to my desk. If I wanted to use the ibook anywhere away from my desk, the battery would have supported me. However, I can't do that anymore because the battery is perhaps as the Apple menu suggests, not installed, even though until two weeks ago it was

Thank you once again, kind regards,

igmolinav

Dead

battery is dead. Make an appt with a genius and be prepared to buy a new one.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. Is it still possible to buy batteries for the ibook G4 ??

Kind regards,

igmolinav

Please go ahead at your pleasure:D
Since I dont usually buy from the, do confirm the warranty!

P.S.: I dont believe any one gets old, they just gain a ton of experience and grace!:D

So, does that mean there is no difference in the battery, but that Apple has the 90 day warranty vs OWC having a one year warranty? I agree that the OWC has a better warranty program but I was wondering if anyone had any comparative data on the batteries.

Well, my joints sure have a lot of experience and not much grace left http://images.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/frown.gif

Whatever it'll be... Im sure OWC is much better than Apple original!

And thats one way to look at it! But still.

Hi,

Thank you for your answers. I thought there was not a chance to get a battery for the ibook anymore.

Kind regards,

igmolinav.
