iBook piracy to follow that of music?

If you are asking if the piracy of books will increase then the answer to that is a resounding yes because now its possible for people to get hold of the pirated material and have something to access them on that is portable and efficient.
If you are asking if it will be on the same scale as music though I dont believe it will be even close. My reasoning behind this is that on the whole people who read appreciate things somewhat more. Yes this is a gross generalization, but anyone can listen to music right? Not everyone has the patience or even the intellegence to read and absorb what they are reading, so I believe most people who enjoy books will continue to enjoy them legally.
The emergance of eBooks will in some ways increase piracy but at the same time increase sales because people who never used to read may actually buy a book or two now because its feasible and 'cool' to read on an electronic device.

There has been book piracy since the net began. Nothing will change. Only thing I have noticed is I seem to have problems with converted epubs. It is like iBooks has to format them correctly or something so there is a lag before they start working. Just like the iTunes store though, most people when given a legal easy way to purchase digital goods will avoid the hassle and just purchase from the iBook store, especially since you can't get books into iBooks on the go unless bought from Apple.
I stripped the DRM off my Kindle books, converted them with Calibre and they're loaded into iTunes waiting for my 3G to eventually show up.
I also have downloaded several library books off the Overdrive system, stripped the DRM and they're loaded too. No conversion required.
I'll have plenty to keep me busy.

If it exists digitally, it is pirated. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as music pirates actually spend more money on buying it.

I hate people that think they are entitled to steal stuff like this. Get a job and pay for it you freeloaders.
Theft is depriving someone else of their property. Piracy is infringing copyright.
