Hey guys,

I have a stupid question for all of you. . . I just got a new macbook air, upgraded from an ibook. I know none of these two computers are meant for gaming, but I wanted to know if you guys could answer me a quick question. Which one would be better for light gaming. 1.2ghz G4, 1GB ram, Ati 9200 32mb or my new C2D 1.6, 2GB, GMA X3100 256mb shared memory. I am thinking obviously the macbook. However I get around 14 FPS on average playing wow on my ibook with min settings. More or less how much can I expect from my macbook air? Not sure if I want to go through the hastle of installing it.

Cheers for putting up with my mundane questions

PS: I was looking at my aspyr game agent and it seems that almost NO games support GMA cards, even older games like CIV IV, Doom III or even Battlefield 1942. Will these games not run on my macbook air?

Well you will be sure to get more frames per second with the macbook air, that's for sure. I played WOW on a GMA 950 macbook and it ran well over 30 frames a second.

However...not much else. :)

Well a lot of games say they don't support GMA graphics cards, but I've played Civ IV, Doom III, AOE III, and Halo 2 (Halo 2 via Boot Camp) on my Macbook w/GMA X3100, so the best way to know is just to try it and see if it works. And yes, the Macbook Air is definitely better than any G4 in terms of gaming because of the speed.
