iBooks; Are You Using PDFs, Converting to ePubs, or still using GoodReader?

I used GoodReader to house all my PDFs since day one of owning the iPad but never really read my PDFs for long term.

After downloading some samples from the iBookstore, I fell in love. Fell in love to the point where I purchased some eBooks and would read a book a day. A book a day! This is huge for someone that'll read one or two books a year!

GoodReader would mainly just house my PDF files, some of which were eBooks.

PDFs in iBooks is nice, but feel spoiled knowing iBooks ePub files can adjust the size of the text..

I'm very curious to see what other people in the MR community think and are doing about this..; whether you're sticking with GoodReader (or other similar app), enjoy PDFs in iBooks or are converting to ePub?

So far, for the past hour i've been using Calibre to convert PDFs to ePub..and so far its worked out okay. Numerous of my 5MB+ PDF files end up at less 500KB ePub files each...minus one that ended up being 65MBs! Probably cause that PDF contained a fair amount of images...but then again, don't images not show up in ePub files?

I've also heard of numerous headache filled experiences when converting PDF to ePub, as text sometimes doesn't convert in order...but then again, here I am barely discussing the matter in MR.

I added a bunch of pdf's to my ibooks but it takes forever for it to refresh and show them after an import.

It's also very slow compared to goodreader when viewing pdf's. Hopefully they can improve the speed in the next release

I have too many PDFs that change to convert them into another format. They reside in GoodReader right now and will stay there for now.

I'm trying to not do anything drastic until we here about a possible printing solution from Apple too. How that works will end up directing where i store everything. Now they could just hurry up and announce it and i'd be good to go! LOL!

iAnnotate for PDF and iBooks for ePub. Dropbox for organizing my docs. Considering Docs to go and quick office as well since I have to handle excel and ppt.

If iBooks adds annotation for PDF, I'd consider switching to it.

I prefer GoodReader for pdfs. Better interface, easier organization with folders for my pdfs, and it performs better.

Also, I can get my pdfs from my iDisk via GoodReader, which I can't do in iBooks.

I've got everything in iBooks. All my books are in ePub format, I have some magazines in PDF but any plain text PDFs I change to epub because they're so much smoother and nicer to read.

Goodreader for PDFs here. I like to sort them in folders depending on what they are for.

I have started using iBooks for some PDF files, but I like GoodReader for the fact that you can password protect files. I have some PDFs that I do not want people to be able to read if they are playing around with my iPad.

I use Fast PDF for my pdfs because the presentation is similar to iBooks. For some reason, the two pdfs I put in iBooks completely hung it up, making it useless. I had to remove the pdfs completely, and just use it for books now.

I started by reading PDF files in good reader.

But have since began to use calibre to covert all my PDF .lit and .txt files into epub to read in stanza or iBooks.

I love this device.

GoodReader is for PDFs. All of my ebooks are in kindle, b&n ereader, or ibooks depending on where I can buy the book the cheapest.

So far I have only purchased ebooks from b&n because I had a few gift cards from there.

I think I like ibooks interface the best so far though so if they are all the same price I will probably go with ibooks.

All this, plus I can import directly from the web or wirelessly from my computer, without using iTunes. Apple did nothing to improve on any of this. The iBooks app does nothing for me really, and I'm not particularly fond of the interface--the page turning is more of a distraction than anything else. My regular ebooks are primarily in the Kindle app (over 300 of them, since I have a Kindle), with a couple from Barnes and Noble.
