Hi,

I cannot figure out how to sync pdf's that I add to iBooks so that they appear on other devices, only those ebooks bought from iTunes show on all devices. For example, I recently saved a user manual pdf for my camera on my iPhone to iBooks and expected that it would then appear on my Mac and also my iPad, but it doesn't. The only way I can get the manual on all devices is to download it onto each device separately from the internet. I have sync bookmarks etc and sync collections checked on all devices.

How do I get these downloaded pdfs to sync?

Thanks.

I had this problem but .. I think on my MBP where I had put them I had to do an add to library under the file menu. Even though they showed up on iBooks they didn't sync till I did that - I don't have any new ones to try so I'm trying to remember but it was something like that.
Try and see what happens

Thanks for taking the time to reply. That didn't work but I have figured it out, I needed to upgrade to iCloud Drive.

Can you explain what you mean by upgrading iCloud drive? I'm trying to sync pdf also across iOS devices and it's not working. Are you saying if you don't pay monthly iCloud storage you cannot sync pdf?

I think it's just the 'new' way iCloud stores files. I don't pay anything for it so I guess it just uses the 5GB free iCloud storage. I don't store anything else on iCloud so don't need to pay for extra storage.

So you got iBook to sync PDF across all devices? Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't get PDF on my iPad to show up in iPhone. They showed up fine in MacBook. I checked all the boxes, iBooks in iCloud, sync enable in iBooks setting.

Not sure then. I made sure all devices were running up to date software, and that all were signed up for icloud drive and then they started syncing. However, pdfs only started syncing once I started adding new ones so I deleted them all on one device and then added them again to the library and they appeared on them all.
