Last night i started getting into the e-books. I downloaded a book that weighs in at about (if i recall correctly as i don't have my iPad with me at the moment) ~4,400 pages. These are the problems that i found:
Performance:
1.) The pages don't flip as smooth (not a huge deal).
2.) flipping between landscape and portrait would take 5 to 10 seconds to redraw the page(s).
3.) clicking on a chapter in the Table of Contents or a bookmark takes 5 to 10 seconds to navigate to the appropriate page.
Annoyances (note: it's possible that this is already added and I'm just clueless on how to do it):
1.) You can't bookmark text between pages.
2.) I noticed i was creating bookmarks like crazy. What would be great is to somehow categorize your bookmarks (by chapter or by a custom category that you specify). I can easily see the bookmarks tab having thousands of bookmarks in there. How am i supposed to go through them and find the text that i was looking for?
3.) We need better book management. I want to be able to group books by category or artist. I want to be able to stack the books on the bookshelf by these groups (exactly how the photos app does with albums and faces) or list them out by these groups.
EDIT: i have found that you can list them out by category.
