iBookstore prices? Selection? Anyone?

Some of the older stuff was much cheaper. I was looking at Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and the books where $6.99.
Can anyone confirm if my book is on the iBook store yet, please? It's called Make a Move, by Steven Gaskin. According to my distributor it shipped to Apple in time to make it out for launch day, but I'm in the UK, so I've no way of checking.

Couldn't just change your country to United States in iTunes, check for it, and then switch it back to the UK store?
In all honesty, is there a reason not to use the Kindle app? It looks fantastic and synched all of my existing Kindle content without a hitch. Plus I get Amazon's pricing and superior selection.
How do you get to the bookstore from within iTunes? I don't seem to be able to (in the US).
I'm doing the same thing. Using both apps actually. I've compared a few titles though and Amazon appears to be consistently cheaper (Atlas Shrugged, as an example - about 5 cheaper at Amazon.)
Doesn't matter if this was possible. The iBookstore is only viewable on the iPad, it's not on iTunes like movies, music, apps, etc.

Assumed they would have been on the App store to download on desktop/laptop and transfer to iPad for those wanting to access them that way. Only briefly looked over the US store at iPad apps earlier today and didn't get into the books part. My mistake.
Some pretty screwy stuff going on with the pricing. Most of the books are pretty normal but for example look at Lincoln Child. Most of his books are in a reasonable price range (many at paperback type prices) but then one of his books, Cabinet of Curiosities, is $23, and that's an eight year old book. What? Weird, I'll pass on that, thanks.
Another strange thing is some books will say "13 reviews" and have a rating, but you can't read any of the reviews, it says "Be the first to review this book."
The selection is patchy for sure (George R. R. Martin has books available, but not his best ones that he's known for — the Song of Fire and Ice series). I'm not too worried about it though, I think it'll fill a out quickly as the iTunes music library did.

If you go to the Classics section of the iBook store, Pride and Prejudice is on there twice... The free version and then another version for $3.99. I suppose one has more illustrations or something, but I'm not really sure why that's worth 4 bucks. Many of the free books have art and illustrations in them anyways, the only thing bare bones about them is the cover.
kind of sad not seeing The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown in the store.
Just go to Wikipedia, search for "The Masons" and use Stanza to turn it into an epub document.

This all has to do with which publishers have signed on. The "Song of Fire and Ice" series appears to be published by Bantam which is apart of Random House (not currently signed on with Apple/iBookStore). The other books which are available, are with publishers that have signed on (i.e. "Warriors", published by Tor Books which is apart of Macmillan).
I would love to see Random House (and others) sign on, and I bet it's just a matter of time. Until then, if you see some books by an author, but not others, this could be one of the reasons why.
I'm not that much of a book reader to be honest, but I'm pretty excited about the iBook functionality. I'm also a big fan of Wizard of Oz actually and I am thrilled to have been able to download the first 14 (!) Oz books from Frank Baum, absolutely free. I added the covers via iTunes, and I have a pretty nice little collection to start with on my iBook shelf. I love this!
