I always thought these personal breathalyzers were stupid. If you're drunk enough that you need a machine to tell you what you're blood/alcohol level is then you're too drunk to drive....legally or not.

Yes, but they can be used to prove to some hotshot that insists on driving that he/she is too drunk to drive.

And the police are not going to give a rats tushie that your personal breathalyzer says you are sober when their meter says you're smashed. They once tried the machines in bars and it turned into a contest to see who could get the highest reading.

completely un-recognized in a court of law.

the previous replier is correct, if you think you need a machine to tell you you're over the limit or not then you dont drive. no question. and i doubt proving any 'hotshot' different will make him change his mind.

it's a gimmick app thats all.

So all it does with it's interface with the iPod is suck it's power. It doesn't even have a corresponding app or anything. May as well have a standalone breathalyzer with batteries.
