iCal invites not working?

First of all, I apologize if a similar thread has been posted.

I am having issues with iCal since I upgraded to IOS5: after creating an event, invitees don't receive an email notifying them about the invite. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? This is very annoying given no one sees RSVPs. Whether I invite the people via my iPhone, my MacBook Pro or iCloud, the problem remains the same.

I have the issue also. No idea how to troubleshoot it apart from going to the Apple store.

Not helpful. We know how it's supposed to work. The point is...it isn't.
