iPod iCal on iPod

Hi!

I will probably buy the new iPod Nano and I don't know if it can act like an pda. I know that info must be intered via a computer.

I would like to know if the calendar function on an iPod makes any sort of alarm on appointment? Do it beep even if the device is off?

If you have an alarm in iCal and sync to your iPod, the iPod will beep at the appropriate time. I found that out by accident when I was trying to figure out what the heck just made that beep.

I believe the iPod either has to be on or "sleeping". I don't think it'll work if it's totally off (when it takes a few seconds to turn on).
