Has there been a fix yet for this? I don't really see any posts about this, which makes me think that there may be a fix.. my understanding is that all google calendars that were syncing with ical were stopped.. so has everyone just switched to icloud?

i prefer google, but not having a calendar synced to my computer is a big pain so i might switch..

I believe google sync (exchange server) will only sync your home calendar, not additional ones.
Nope, not true (or, hasn't been for quite some time). If you correctly follow the google sync setup instructions, you're eventually led to a web-based setup page where you can choose multiple calendars to sync. You're allowed to sync up to 25 calendars.

I use the both the built-in calendar app, and pocket informant, and automatic bidirectional syncing works great.

thanks.. but i already did all that before.. i had it set up perfectly to sync my own as well as additional calendars, but after iOS 5, it stopped syncing suddenly.

Per this page below, google says it's a known issue, but just wondering why others haven't had this issue--or, more importantly--how I can resolve it..

EDIT: Just another note.. my iOS devices sync beautifully still (iphone, ipad) with google. But it is my computer ical that does not sync with google and thus does not sync with my iphone/ipad.. the reason it is in this forum is because it seems to be related to icloud and iOS 5 (per google's explanation above)

Running OS5 on an iPhone 4, and iPad 2 and they sync fine. Mac Mini did not, but when I synced everything to iCloud it all worked..... Odd work-a-round I know, but it is seamless once it is set up. So, I do not have an issue with Google calendar syncing on all three devices....

thanks... i think that's exactly the point. Apple made it such that it won't work to sync all the devices if you don't use icloud.. i dont want to switch everything to icloud because i prefer having access via google servers if I need it elsewhere. ALso - I don't want to pay to upgrade to Lion just so my calendar syncs as well as it did before iOS 5..

any solutions?

Ah, sorry, I thought you were talking about iOS 5 devices.
