iCal Unsync Question

I am interested in removing my iCal from my iPad, but I am unable to figure out how. I have searched the net and this site over and nothing. Any help here?

To stop synching the calendar on iPad with iCal you deselect calendar synching in iTunes when your iPad is connected to your computer. The synching option is under the info tab.

I have tried that. My problem is that I had some recurring things that happen daily and even after the "unsync" those events are still there. Two of them a day, every day, for forever haha. Is there anyway to get rid of this stuff?
