I am trying to upload my calendar from outlook to my iphone. It uploads it perfectly except I color coded everything in my outlook calender but on my iphone it shows everything as the color blue...anyone know how I can get it to be color coded?

The Iphone calendar doesn't sync the colours from outlook.

If you want different colours in your Iphone calendar, what you have to do is make different additional Calendar folders in Outlook.

For example if you want to colour all birthdays and anniversaries in a different colour then you have to make a Calendar folder in Outlook called Birthdays and Anniversaries and transfer those appointments into that Calendar folder.

Then on your next sync you have to go to the information tab in iTunes and set it to sync that calendar folder too. Then sync and those appointments will be in a different colour. The default calendar is always in blue, and then there is a set order of colours that you can't vary. There's a discussion on it here:

It's quite easy once you get used to the idea, I have 5 different calendar folders, Birthdays & Anniversaries, Work, Sport, Family. All others go in the main blue calendar.

Hope this helps.

Not really, as you already have your outlook calendar 'in categories' chances are these are the same headings that you want different calendars for, so right click on calendar, add new calendar folder, change the appointment view on outlook to 'by category' highlight all the appointments in that category and move them to the new calendar folder. Sync the iphone, choose that/those calendar folder(s) to sync and that's it. 5 minutes.

There are only 5 colours available though, so if you have 6 categories one of the colours is repeated. Bit pointless.

I found it's really worth doing as the iphone calendar has no search facility. (Worst thing IMHO about the iphone) so, you know you've got a birthday coming up don't remember when, you can then show just birthdays in the calendar and scroll down the list view. Much quicker. Still not as good as a search, but livable with.
