hi!

i have a question about how iChat and .Mac work?
i has trying to using the iChat but i need a .mac account and i have to subscribe to .mac so if u don't want to pay for that u can 't get a @mac.com emal?
also is telling me that i can't get a 60 days trial but after it finishes , what i have to call apple and cancel it or it doesn't auto'. when the trial version gets over will I lose my @mac.com?

Thanks!

One of the interesting things about .Mac is that if you sign up for a trial account and let the 60 day period expire on its own (it won't auto-upgrade you unless you explicitly tell it to do that in your account options), you get to keep the @mac.com name for iChat purposes. However, you can just as easily get an AIM screen name for use with iChat - no messing around with .Mac, and it works just as well as an @mac.com name.

You can't get a permanent @mac.com email address without subscribing, though.
