iChat AV... I didn't respond?

Story. I get a macbook pro, brand new, so does a friend of mine. We both get on iChat using AIM. I select to start a video chat, he accepts, it works cleanly. He is on wireless, I am wired, both going through the same basic Linksys router. No problems at all. I leave for awhile, come back, get on wireless through the same router, now he is wired through his same router. It gives us the message "You did not respond" on both ends. We both are using the latest version of iChat AV. Is this just an AOL problem? I am thinking we should try a different service. I have tried testing it with the applebot on AIM and it still works. Does anyone else have this problem? My AIM is sphclick, I would like to test it with someone. Thank you.

Sometimes that happens to me...sometimes it doesn't....

Video conferancing on AIM via iChat is not perfect, by any means.....
