So my iMac was getting full of junk I didn't need, so I used my disks and did a reformat. Ahh, a clean Mac...only thing is, iChat doesn't want to cooperate now.

I use it on a second monitor, always have. That way, when I have windows fullscreen, it doesn't get lost behind the page. For some reason now, when I get an IM, the window is enormous. I resize it, but it doesn't hold and it goes back to being huge when I close that window. Also, if I close iChat with message windows open, the next time I open it, it opens up a (huge) message window with each of the people I was talking to, and it has the ("...") bubble up like I'm typing something to them. It's extremely annoying, especially if I had a lot of message windows open when I closed it.

I have uninstalled an reinstalled iChat, but still the same. Before, my iChat didn't do this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
