ichat sound

i cant seem to get certian sounds on ichat to work.....theyre all set in the prefs under alerts and everything....when someone signs on or off it makes the noise...every other program makes the noise.....but just the noise of incoming/outgoing messages....i tried restarting and closing ichat, but nothing

Have you tried to run repair permissions? Is this a new Mac and a recent occurrence? A lot of times I don't even have my sound turned on.

it happesn sometimes......but a restart usually fixes it.....not this time....repaired permiossions and nothing
