Hope that maybe someone can offer a bit of advise.

I'm having trouble video iChatting with a friend who is hundreds of miles away. I can video iChat with the iSight to other people in my buddy list, but not this one person. I'm asked about firewalls at his end but he has told me that they have fixed with their network, whatever it was that was preventing it.

But still it fails.

He gets a message about it me failing to respond after i've sent him an invite and he accepts, I never recieve the acceptance and it says that he failed to respond.

We are both using Powerbook's 1.33's, and iSights with Tiger 10.4.2

Also he has mentioned that proxy servers are used if that makes any difference

Thankyou.

Proxies would cause a delay in the information, so it would time out, so that is probably the problem. A proxy is basically used to hide computers from others, though one central point. Basically who ever setup the connection for him, wants proxy servers used so that no one can pin point where he is at, and direct connections are probably severed so that a pin point can't happen either. It could also be that iChat video is not compatable with the proxy in use. Here is info on proxies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server
