Hey guys, a friend of mine has bought a new 3GS iPhone and has asked me to jailbreak it for him. I plan to use RedSn0w but I need some clarification on Step 2 of iClarified's tutorial on WINDOWS: (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=7449)
It tells me to restore the iPhone using the firmware ipsw provided on the site but do I really need to do this restore? My friend has apps, contacts and photos on his phone and it will be lost through a restore. His iPhone already has 3.1.2 firmware and is virgin. May I bypass Step 2 to keep his things synced?
