iCloud 3.2GB available

I once had my backup on iCloud (back in the beta days), but decided to remove it (I prefer an iTunes backup). However, my iCloud is completely empty yet it still says I only have 3.2GB available (1.8GB was the size of my backup). How do I regain my storage space? I have to stress that it's completely empty, my backups are already gone.
