ICloud alternative

Hi guys

I am after some advise, I love macs having a iPad 2, mb pro andiphone 4s I am currently using iCloud after transferring over from mobile me but would like advise on the following:

1) is there a alternative to iDisk

2) is there a gallery that can use like mobile me gallery?

3) is there a service that provides all these?

Whilst apple are doing great with iCloud they have really left us in the cloud with all of the above. What are other users using?

anybody have other suggestions other than Dropbox for an idisk replacement?

I'm looking for something where the files stay on a server instead of being synced to the local computers. I don't need all of the files on all the computers. The total size of what I want to store online is too large for the free Dropbox account and since several people share the files as a resource, the fees add up fast for all those upgraded Dropbox accounts

ok, that's what I'm assuming.......but do you know of any companies that offer this as a service? I'm looking for something relatively consumer friendly (or at least no worse than idisk was)

2. Picasa with Web Albums app. Quite spectacular, supports upload, captions, organizing, sending links, works amazing over AirPlay to AppleTV.
3. No. Maybe some day Goofle will create a dropbox like app for google docs storage.

I've totally moved away from iCloud since Apple shoved me away after MobileMe w iOS5.

Google Apps w/ custom domain provides iCloud like mail/contacts/cal sync for family. (or generic gmail)

With the above, if you need more than dropbox's 2GB or box.net 5GB, you are free to pay.

Not sure what you're asking. The "service" is allowing sftp access. How you access it is up to you. FTP clients are all over the place... usually it's just a matter of saving your login and password in the client and double clicking to connect.

SkyDrive allows 25 GB and includes Office Web Apps.

+1 for SkyDrive. Really surprised more people are not using it. I use Windows Live Mesh on my Mac and it Sync's Folders with my Windows Machine at work. However, I believe you only get 5GB for Sync Storage.
