Can someone explain how iCloud works with movies and tv shows? Does it do anything with ripped movies from DVD?

no rips, what you purchase you can stream, pretty simple

I don't get it either. When I go to iCloud, nothing is there related to media purchases. Do you have to have an iTunes match subscription?

You go to the Movies or TV shows section on the Apple TV and then go to "Purchased" and you can access any of your purchases directly from the Cloud.

Photostream and iTunes Match are the other parts of iCloud available on the Apple TV.

i think its a great feature overall. if im going home to visit parents for a few days and dont bring a laptop, i always had to spend time selecting the content i want, now i can just take with me in the "cloud".

So thats pretty sweet
