I've not yet moved to iCloud, although I just updated my oldest MBP to Lion last week in preparation. My concern is that I live in a rural area where my only internet access is through AT&T data connect cards.

We have two at the maximum they allow of 5GB per month, but we are always going over and experiencing rather large bills because I work from home and send and receive large files on a regular basis.

When I move to iCloud how or will it affect my data use on my computers? I'm not worried about my iPhone as much since I never use the wifi at home.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice. I've studied the Forums and the iCloud literature but haven't really found any specific answers.

Thank you for the response. That's what I feared.

Very sad. I've been an Apple supporter since I purchased my first Mac in 1987. It's too bad that they didn't offer a Plan B for others like me who will find it difficult/impossible to use the cloud.

Yes I feel your pain which is why I don't use iCloud. I too live in an area with limited internet and spotty cell reception. I can't find any provider that will sell me unlimited data internet for my house except dial-up and no I will never go back to that. Plus to top it off I don't have unlimited data on my iPhone. I got on ATt&T just after they discontinued it and at the time there was no iCloud so not an issue but now I could go through all my data in a matter of days if I used iCloud. So for now I will keep using my iPod classic because I have to much must and movies. Plus with all the storage I would need I would have to pay Apple for more storage and why pay Apple when I have 2 hard drives sitting on my desk that I can use for FREE..... Also thats why I never made the switch to the 4s again Siri is cool and all but every time you use that it has to bounce off Apples servers and guess what more data I would rather not use. Sorry to rant but I can see where this could be really use full to people who live in places where they can get unlimited internet but for the rest of us I guess we are stuck in the stone age.
