iCloud Apple ID

Hello there,
I have an iCloud Apple ID and an iCloud Alias email address associated to this Apple ID.
I want to delete this Alias and create a new Apple ID with that address.
Is that possible ?
I just want to be sure before doing anything wrong.

A different approach is to create an iCloud email address and to associate this address to my account.
Then I will make that new address my Apple ID.
But how to create that iCloud email address ( not as an Apple ID ) ?
Any help would be time saver.

Go to appleid.apple.com and edit it to suit your preferences.

Thanks, I can't do that because my Apple ID is iCloud.
