When you have the 'iCloud backup' enabled under settings and you plug you phone into the charger, does your phone's data automatically back up to the iCloud servers?

It's giving me absolutely no indication that it is backing up, but whenever my phone is plugged into the charger, my entire internet bandwidth speed goes down to an unusable speed, then when I take it off the charger, the internet speed goes back up again.

To complicate things further, I check whether there's an existing back up on iCloud, and it's coming up with 'No back up'? So I have something which is constantly running in the background when I plug my phone into the charger, but there has been no successful back up as of date. What the...?

Would appreciate if anyone can test out whether their internet speed goes down substantially after enabling iCloud backup and plugging their phone into the charger!

Same here. I followed the setup rules on my iMac and no backup. I was looking for a backup manual button and nothing. I then backed up my phone and nothing.

When I look at iCloud under settings it says I have no backups and I am using no space on my 5 gig.

The thing irritating me the most is why it uses almost my ENTIRE internet bandwidth to back up the data to the iCloud servers?!
