If I have iCloud backup my apps for example Angry Birds will it keep my saves game on it? So will it keep my level progress on it when I restore?

I'm wondering if this will happen as well.

As I see it, iOS5 does two things with iCloud:

- Apps can save data to iCloud instead of locally
- iCloud can BACKUP app data

So far the only app that I see using iCloud for storing it's data is Soundhound (for bookmarks and history). This is awesome because that means I can delete the app and the data is still in iCloud.

What I really want is game devs who do Universal games to save data in iCloud, so I can switch back and forth between my iDevices playing a game.

Very cool. So if I redownload the app, by save progress will be restore and it show what levels I completed?

Be aware, iCloud doesn't magically save data from all apps. Apps themselves need to be coded to save data.

You can check which apps are using data in your iCloud account by going to:

Settings -> iCloud -> Storage & Backup -> Manage Storage

This screen will show you Documents & Data being stored in iCloud.

I have been backing up to iTunes and it has backed up my Angry Birds data. I just replaced my iPad and restored from backup.....all my progress was saved.

Your will lose all data is you ever delete the app from your device.

I believe so......IF the app is saving to iCloud.

My wife has Soundhound....that app that listen and identifies music. After upgrading to iOS5, it asked if I wanted to save bookmarks and history in iCloud. I said yes. So now when I look at the iCloud storage....I see Soundhound listed.

Now, my wife had an issue with her camera roll after the upgrade. Only fix was to WIPE her iPhone and NOT restore from a backup....basically start from scratch. Well, I installed Soundhound on the new install, and it found and used her bookmarks and history just fine from the iCloud. This was NOT an iCloud backup....just the storage the app was using in her iCloud account.

This to me is AWESOME. If all apps start using data in iCloud, that means I can delete apps and still have the data.
