iCloud Backup deleted by itself

I used to have a older iCloud backup from 2014 but it got deleted by itself. Whats up with that ?

It doesn't show up anymore on my backups. I didn't delete it.

I've lost my backups from 2014 (I had an older iphone). I'm not too happy about it. IT's my own iCloud space for which I pay...

I guess backups now come with an unknown, unobservable, Apple assigned expiration date.
