Hey guys

A lot of us seem to be having this problem. I'm wondering if there is a server problem.

OK,so I forgot to set the backup method to "iCloud" in iTunes.I did that and now it starts to sync but immediately gives an error: "There was a problem completing the backup. Please try again later."

iCloud Backup Failed

I was able to back up my iPad, but not my iPhone 4. Bummer. It keeps saying Try Again. I imagine the servers are busy, but I would love to know, because I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow.

It seems its a server problem,I'll try with my iPad to see if it works or not

I was able to get my iphone4 backed up just fine. It was about a 200mb backup and took about 20 minutes to complete. I ran it today about 12:30pm EDT. I haven't run a backup yet for my ipad2 but will do so later.

I ran two backups, one on an iP4 and the other iPad gen 1 and both seemed to go smooth. OP, try it again. If not maybe give the phone a hard reset or reboot and see if a kick in the pants can get it started.

It is not working

I have been trying all day to back my iPhone 4 byt I get the same error message iCloud Backup Failed There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup. I have been retrying since 8am but no success. Any other ideas anyone?

OK,so I managed to fix it :)
There are few things you have to do first before using the iCloud from the phone
1)Connect the iPhone. In iTunes, select the summary tab and choose "Backup to iCloud"

2)
If you're using Windows,download this
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455
Open it and sign in via your apple ID
-
If you're using OS X,download 10.7.2 update and the iCloud settings should be available in the system preferences.(login with your apple ID)

3)Now go to your iPhone's settings>iCloud>Storage and backup and enable "iCloud backup" and then select "Backup now" and it should work fine without any errors.

Hard reset got mine working also. It took about 8 hours for the back up to complete, but finally it did. I hope it won't take that long to retrive all my info when needed.
