Iphone X running 11.4. I just noticed that my phone hasn't been automatically backing up to the icloud. When I turn on icloud backup I get the message "iCloud Backup Failed. There was a problem enabling iCloud Backup". I reset network connections to no avail and then did the Reset All Settings move and that locked my phone up with the "Slide up to upgrade" message. At that point It was bricked until about 10 hard resets. I tried to connecting to iTunes and doing a backup that way but it hangs up on step 2 and finally error message "iTunes could not backup the iPhone "iPhone" because an error occurred". Have I missed something?

Try logging out of iCloud and then log back in with your Apple ID and password. You might also want to open iTunes, select preferences, devices, and check your backups. You can erase all the backups from there and then start over to make sure you have both a good backup to your Mac or PC and to iCloud.

Eh, cooter32 has a problem with backups, and you are suggesting to erase other backups? Wouldn't do that, to be honest. What if a perfectly fine backup gets erased?

Yes, that's true. But sometimes in order to clear any defective backup that's causing the problem he's experiencing, the only way is to start over. I use both iTunes and "iMazing 2" to make backups for our iPhones and iPad Pro, but even at that I have had to on occasion clear my backups and start over.
