iCloud backup frequency

Has anyone been able to determine what the backup frequency is for iCloud? I'm wondering how much battery life I save by only turning it on every couple of days or so.

My last iCloud backup was at 5:30 yesterday if that says anything. Honestly though even if it backed up every hour, you don't have to use it. Flip it on when you feel like backing it up.

The icloud backup wont have any affect on battery because it will only do it automatically when plugged in.

I've been checking mine daily and it seems to happen once a day, a couple of hours after I plug it in and go to bed. Usually between 1 and 3 am.
