I'm surprised no one brought this up so far.
Apple appears to have deleted all iCloud backups made in iOS 9 beta in everyone's iCloud. Any iCloud backups made during June - September 9th from iOS 9, ARE GONE.
I'm left without an iCloud backup, except for early June backups.. months of data is gone. Not all users backup to iTunes.

Data loss of this magnitude has NEVER occurred in the past.

From what I understand, they deleted them to get rid of the phantom backups that some had and couldn't delete.

On 9.1 I'm able to iCloud backup just fine again. (Maybe 9.0 GM works also? I was only on that for a day.)

So either update to either of those, or wait a few days for the official GM release to the public.

I restored to GM and tried restoring to a backup.. but the only backups available are from EARLY JUNE, everything after june has been wiped clean.
I assumed my backups would be safely kept in the iCloud.. now I know never to rely on the cloud again.

This will come off as rude, but I don't mean it to be, because it does suck. But you really should have double checked the status of your backup before performing a restore. So that you could backup right before doing it if need be. Also it's usually a good idea to not rely 100% on iCloud backups and also do local ones onto your computer.

What he said, and whenever I install a beta, I do a quick local backup. It restores quicker that way.

And that is what's actually stated as the thing to do when it comes to installing betas.

As with @lagwagon, I don't wish to be rude, but here you go: You have been using beta software.

It's buggy. It's glitchy. You should understand the potential issues with the software and how it may impact you. You should also have another system (iTunes backups) in place.

If you don't understand the dangers and don't have another system in place, you don't have any reason to use beta software. Plain and simple.
