As of this morning, I noticed this abnormality with my iCloud backups - any one else seeing this ?

Same here. I deleted the backup and ran it again manually. I get an accurate reporting now.

same here... added an extra 3Gb to icloud with no means to remove/delete backup which actually doesn't exist anyhow.

Kept hitting retry until it actually deleted the old backup. Will see what happens after the next backup.

All beta backups from iOS 9 have been deleted today to prepare for the final release. It's not possible to back up from the beta right now, but all iCloud accounts have their storage back from bad backups.

So we can't use iCloud to backup our phones before the GM?

just the usual beta backup wipings before another major release nothing new, who would want to restore a backup of a beta to a non beta anyway?

Issues with my iPad 2 and iPhone 6 as well. Have had no problems with backups over the last month or so, except for inaccurate date reporting and sometimes failure to delete. But, now I can't get a single backup to complete and all my previous backups have been deleted off the cloud.
