Seems old backups can't be deleted and don't show up against the total space but backups are there and if a new backup will go over, it fails.

I've got the same problem. Can't backup any devices even iOS 8 because it says not enough space.

So file a feedback item and hopefully devs are filing radars and apple get this worked out.

All of these backup problems are scaring me :(. They are the only thing that is holding me back from using the iOS 9 PB. I have a great deal of data stored in iCloud and I do not want to take any risks with it.

I'm having this problem also. Ugh.

Also, iOS 9 turned on iCloud photo backups (was previously turned off) and I can't turn it off. So it is trying to back up way more data than I want it to. After clicking on "Choose the data you want to back up" no choices come up. It just says "Next Backup Size: 25.5GB "

If you have anything in iCloud more than backups I wouldn't upgrade. It's a minor inconvenience to use iTunes instead. Like the ol days

Dev account not public beta, and iCloud backups haven't worked at all since going with iOS 9. Not much fun.

I just got a backup to work on my iPad. I was showing 8gb free. It was a 1.2 Gb backup but now I have 2.6gb free. Def wonky.

Back up through iTunes then you wont have to worry about data loss.
