iCloud Backup suddenly Full?

So, why did my iCloud Backup storage suddenly go to full as soon as I bought my 1TB Pro? I only had a 16GB Air before, and my Pro’s capacity says 1.02 TB with 1.01 TB available?
 
This could have multiple reasons. Since you have a new device, have you kept the backup of the old device in the cloud still?
