Ever since I migrated from MobileMe to iCloud last week, my calendar invites from both my iPhone and my iMac are no longer readable by Lotus Notes (my wife). This is, obviously, a big problem!

I searched the Google-verse and do not see any other mention of this.
Am I alone?

Businesses are leaving Lotus Notes for MS Exchange at a rapid pace because of compatibility issues like this and others.

Works fine in Lotus Notes 8.5.3

John

I tested this and and it worked fine for me, using the latest version Lotus Notes 8.5.3. I can properly read the invite, see the buttons to respond and clicking the Accept button properly returned confirmation of my attendance for that meeting.

I recommend that your wife talk to her company's system administrators to raise the issue with them. Things to check:
Lotus Notes client version
Mail Template version
[Domino server version]

Obviously it would be ideal to have all of these at the latest/highest version, but that's the company's decision.

Additionally, the company's Domino admins could open a support ticket with IBM Customer support to have this investigated, if needed.

Reinhard,

THANK YOU!

I will do exactly as you suggest.

I know what kind of a black-hole support sometimes is, so I thought maybe I could get a quick fix here. Strangely, it worked before I moved from MobileMe to the Cloud, which is why I thought it was Apple.

I decided to open a real problem, so I went to Support.Apple.com and within a few short clicks, Apple called me.

I accidentally hung up on them, and they called back in 2 minutes.

I then waited in the queue for a few short minutes. The person who answered, understood my problem and transferred me to the iCal department where I waited another 15 minutes.

The iCal department then did some research for 10 minutes, and came back to tell me that, unfortunately, iCal is working / not broken. I disagreed, saying that this is my business computer and not being able to send meeting invites to anyone not using a MAC is insane.

The support guy suggested I tell the developers directly, via http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html.

I did.

He suggested that you all do to. The more people who feedback, the faster we'll get a fix!

I sent a test calendar entry from my son's MacBook Pro. He has the same Lion version, but did not upgrade to iCloud. That invite worked (the way mine used to before the iCloud upgrade). Both Outlook and Notes were able to open the attached ICS file and add my invitation to their calendar. This proves that it's iCloud.

Now, if Apple would just acknowledge / fix this...

Works fine for me with Outlook 2011.

Hmmmmm.
I thought I was on to something, but if it works for you then I'm back to the drawing board.

Do you have any ideas why it would work for you and not me?

I'm running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74) with iCal 5.0.1 (1547.4).

Are you able to click on the ACCEPT within the invitation or do you have to open the attached ICS file?

I can accept within the invitation when it's from iCloud, it's accepting when it from Google cal that I seem to have problem with while others don't. :(

I'm running 10.7.2(11C73) with iCal 5.0.1 (1547.4).

I'll admit when I first switch to iCloud nothing worked properly until I deleted iCloud from Lion & iPhone then added the account again. Did this about three times and played with settings until it finally worked correctly.

... but it also doesn't work when I send an invite from my iPhone.
If it were my Mac, then the iPhone would work, and vice versa.
Having them both (iMac Lion and iPhone iOS 5) not work when I switched to iCloud, when they both used to work, makes me believe it's not me.

... but then why can others running Lion work and not me?

Ooooh, I think we might be getting somewhere...
  1. Did you delete email and calendar from both, then re-add to both?
  2. Do you remember what settings you played with?

Yea, I deleted my account from both. Then I added the account on my Mac first, then my iPhone. Don't remember exactly what I did first, but I remember I synced everything one by one and made sure it worked individually first before I continued. Had to also delete and add from calendar preferences and system preferences. I also deleted and added accounts from Outlook 2011.

Lotus Notes is the crappiest cluster of software ever devised.

I'm out today, but can't wait to try that tomorrow.
I'll let you all know how it goes.
Thanks again!

Agreed, but that doesn't help me make my iMac/iPhone work with the thousands of people who do use Notes.

That didn't work either :(

I've tried many suggestions, yet all attempts on my end (iMac and/or iPhone) still use the underlying iCloud infrastructure and still send the Outlook/Notes user to iCloud.com

I did think of a work-around: I created a new Calendar on my Mac and send all invitations to the outside world thru that calendar. That worked for both my Outlook colleagues and my Notes colleagues. It's not perfect. They still have to open the attached ICS file, but at least the data makes it to their calendars. It took a while, but I'm now back to where I was before iCloud.

I'm having the same problem (I think). I set up a couple appointments on my iMac (all updates applied on Lion) and invited my work address so I could have them on my work calendar. When I click on the .ics from iCal, it just says "Meeting cannot be found in calendar" and there's no way for me to accept it. We run Outlook 2010.

Any resolution to this issue? I still can't send in invite to my work (Outlook) email and accept it. It just says it can't find the event on my calendar.

So I have the same problem (I use notes and my wife sends invites via iCloud), found this website and I'm on Lotus Notes 8.5.2 Before she upgraded to Lion for iCloud capability everything worked fine.

I saw the post that said 8.5.3 works which is pretty new. I will try to upgrade to 8.5.3 over the weekend and post my results here.

Thanks again to everyone who has posted here.

OK so I upgraded to 8.5.3, had another test invite sent to me and it sort of worked. Specifically some of the ics files automatically worked however there was an invite that did not work. In that instance, I tried accepting via the http accept button which took me to the iCloud website. From there I downloaded the ics file and it worked.

Seeing how I've seen Outlook / Exchange issues as well as Lotus Notes issues, I have to think the problem is on the iCloud side. Nevertheless, I'm glad I upgraded to 8.5.3 so that I could get this to work. I think with some tweaking on the iCloud side, I should get to 100%

Hope this helps.

See that won't solve my problem because iCloud (and most other webmail, web storage, etc. sites) are blocked by my company's proxy.

Is anyone else having this issue with exchange/outlook?
