iCloud cannot send as xxx@me.com only xxx@mac.com

Help,

I've got the GM for ios 5 on bothe my iphone 4 and ipad 1. All set up fine on my iPad transitioned my account from mobile me to iCloud all working fine. I can send mail as myname@me.com

However when I have set all up on the iPhone it will only let me send mail as myname@mac?

Can anyone offer any advice?

I am having the same problem. Signed up for iCloud on my iPad and iPhone using an @mac address, created an @me address and both the iPad and iPhone will only let me send via the @mac address (which fails).

I can receive mail on the new @me.com address, just can't send any.

Hopefully someone has a solution.

My mail sends fine just as xxx@mac.com which I do not want...

Frustrating especially when my iPad works fine

Re-installed the GM re verified my @me.com email address with my apple ID and all seems to be working now, touch wood!
