All I wanted to do was sync my keychain so that the passwords for some websites would fill in. I have an MBA and a Mac Pro, both with Mavericks.
Literally the only thing I used iCloud for was for "Find My Mac". Mail was definitely not checked at all.
So I set up to sync the Keychains. Only the Keychains, because, you know, it just says "Keychains" there, and so I assume that is what will be synced. So I approve the sync AND IT PROCEEDS TO ADD ALL THESE DUPLICATE IMAP ACCOUNTS TO MAIL.APP.
And keep in mind I have like 9 e-mail accounts, most of them I host myself on a VPS, but there's also a Gmail and a POP only Earthlink thrown in there for good measure.
The MBA uses IMAP accounts, but the Mac Pro is based off an import from my old G5, which is based on an import from my old iMac G4, which was set up with an import from Netscape Communicator 4.8 from my old Power Mac 7300. It's where I archive e-mail, but I mostly read now on the Air. It's just always been POP3 and I left it alone because the damn thing has worked for 13+ years.
Whoever thought it would be a good idea to bundle "Internet Accounts" with "Keychain" should be summarily executed in a public square. Wasted an hour cleaning this crap up, and now I forgot what the hell website I wanted to load in the first place.
