When I first upgraded to iOS 5 I was impressed at how snappy my phone was... It seemed like a huge improvement over 4. However, the last few days, it has slowed down tremendously to the point where my phone stutters while typing a text (meaning it doesn't display what I type immediately). My battery has also been draining really fast, like down to 50% battery after only a few hours unplugged. The phone was also running REALLY hot yesterday...
I'm not sure what is causing this, but I tried a few things. First I turned off Wifi iTunes sync, by plugging my phone into iTunes and unchecking the box in iTunes to enable the sync (there is NO WAY to turn it off from the phone itself by the way).
Second, I turned off Photostream... This didn't improve things.
Thirds, I started turning everything else off from iCloud such as auto backup, sync calendar, contacts, etc...
Nothing seemed to work... So I deleted my iCloud account, and viola, my phone seems to be working normally again.
Unfortunately, this is very disappointing. I really want to like and use iCloud, but that's not going to work for me. Hopefully Apple is aware of this and working on a fix.
