One of the things I was excited about with iCloud was the ability to backup my contacts, bookmarks, etc. so that if I had a problem away from home I could at least restore some of my most important stuff.

Well, I have a PC and to use iCloud for my calendar and contacts I have to use Outlook. I don't use Outlook. I thought my info would be stored directly in iCloud but apparently my iPad doesn't sync this directly. My PC is supposed to do the heavy lifting. Not a 'post-PC' thing!

Next I guess I'm confused even more about iCloud and bookmarks. I checked my PC and my bookmarks from my iPad are there in IE. However, all I see in iCloud are icons for Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Find My Phone, and iWork. Of course all of these are pretty much BLANK.

So what am I missing? How do I at least get my bookmarks over there. I updated and synced over 24 hrs ago. Exactly when is my PC supposed to send the info to iCloud?

Sorry to be so thick. Im pretty disappointed with these revelations.
