icloud contacts-(missing contact) does it keep multiple backups?

I just noticed today that one of my contacts is missing on my iphone4s. When logging into icloud.com it too is missing that contact. Wasn't there a feature that if something was deleted by accident, it could be restored? How would I check?
Btw, this was a migrate from me.com if that matters.
