Anyone successful in using selective aliases instead of MX records.
The idea is to preserve existing accounts/forwards on a domain.

Currently Apple supports custom domains only for iCloud accounts associated to a family.
I currently operate my own email server with additional accounts outside my family
(and some external aliases).

What I would like to do is forward the emails for my family members to iCloud+ and
keep those outside on my own server.
The reason is, if I move the MX to Apples servers all those Email adresses outside the
family will be rejected.

Anyone has experience with this?

I would assume you initially would have to set the MX as Apple seems to test for that,
question is whether you could roll that back later and only use selective forwarding.

If I understand correctly, you want to use the custom domain with people outside your icloud “family”, right? That’s what i’m trying to find out too. I want to use our business custom domain with iCloud+ with my 4 colleagues. They are on windows, but I think I could persuade them to pay for iCloud storage if this would be possible
