iCloud "Delete Account" button?

In settings > iCloud at the bottom there is a Delete account button. Anyone know if this just deltas the account from the phone, or does it delete the account server side?

It just deletes the account from your phone. I did it many times already due to the new @me.com email address not pushing mail in.

I'm concerned that this Delete Account button is next to the Sync Now button. I'm worried that I might touch it my mistake. If you do hit the Delete Account button does it ask for confirmation?

yes... if you hit delete account, it asks if you want to delete or cancel.
