Hi,

I keep having the problem that emails sent to my iCloud mailbox just disappear without a trace. They are simply deleted by Apple and do not even reappear in the spam filter.

The senders are not small businesses but big companies like DHL or Vodafone. And not all emails either. Only a handful (that I know of) but nevertheless my trust in Apple as an email provider is dwindling.

Has anyone had similar experiences and what can be done about it? So except to do without iCloud as an email provider and switch to the competition.

I don’t really use my iCloud email for anything. There are so many free emails out there like Yahoo or Google it just doesn’t make sense to put your iCloud email out there because you can’t change it so once it gets on a spam list it’s going to be a mess. I know it works because I’ve used it to email my tax accountant once a long time ago and didn’t have an issue then.

I mean to troubleshoot you could go to the web browser check it there to see if it’s an issue with just your email client

If you're talking about Mail on your Mac, what are your Junk Mail settings and the settings under Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors for automatic Junk Mail deletion?

Talking about the iCloud mailbox itself. Access via browser or Apple Mail on macOS or iPhone.

So these emails appear in your iCloud inbox and then disappear? If so, that's why I asked about your Junk Mail settings. If Junk Mail is set to appear in your inbox (rather than the Junk Mail folder), and the Junk deletion settings are set to delete after one day, that might possibly explain what's happening.

Other explanations might be that you've applied the unread only filter, or that you have a rule set up. You can help ensure they don't get deleted if you add them to your Contacts, but reviewing the settings is a better first step.

Ah, missunderstanding.

nope. These emails never appear in my mailbox. Neither in my inbox nor in spam folder. There are no filtering rules applied.
