Hi,

Last week I set up my new iPhone 6s Plus by restoring an iCloud backup from my iPad 4. However, for some reason my mail accounts, contacts, bookmarks, and calendars did not transfer. This seems odd as I have set up other iOS devices by restoring iCloud backups.

Apple says in this document (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204136) that this data is not transferred. However, in this document (https://support.apple.com/kb/PH12117?locale=en_US), Apple say if you are using OS X 10.9 or later (I am running 10.10), iCloud automatically keeps this information in sync among all your computers and iOS devices.

Could someone please advise me on how I can get this information to easily sync to my new iPhone?

Thanks!

When you log into your account at http://icloud.com/ and you open the appropriate app, do you see your data there?

If you do, then maybe you're not logged into iCloud on your iPhone, or those particular things don't have the sync feature toggled on.

Okay, it turned out I had those settings off for iCloud and most of my info has synced. However, unfortunately my many mail accounts have not synced.

Any ideas on how to get these accounts to sync? I know I could add them manually, but would rather not do this.

Well it sounds like your internet accounts didn't sync over period, this would include your social media accounts as well so might want to check those. In the case that you've got, go into mail contacts and calendars and see if they are at least listed. The easiest way to sync all of your mail accounts is to plug the device into iTunes and then add your accounts through iTunes, it would save you having to key in your information, outside of that, you could try re-restoring the device, but it would take less time just to add your email accounts.

It is bizarre, but iTunes states that my calendars and contacts are being synced over iCloud, but there is no options for mail. I will just have to add it manually. :-/
