iCloud docs and data

Hi all
Does anyone know what data is included in the iCloud docs and data ?
Is it just iWork's docs (which I don't use)
Or does the data also include settings and other apps data which should be backed up.
Not sure if I need to keep it on or I should just do a full backup once in a while.

It backs up EVERYTHING. I'm talking emails, contacts, photos, iWork docs, app data and settings.

To see what it's backing up, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage. There you can toggle which apps are backed up and see how much space they are taking.

Sorry, I was not talking about the backup to the cloud. I was referring to the sync "Documents and data" option on or off.
What does the data include in that option.

No need to apologize, I misread what you had typed.

My safe assumption is that it is for apps and not just for iWork docs. If you click on it, it says "Allow apps to store documents and data in iCloud." Since there aren't any other settings for 3rd party data storage, this has to be it. Especially with apps like Scribblenauts supporting iCloud storage. If I had the game I'd try it for you, but I don't.

I think this is a key feature to keep on in this case.
I keep all the other cloud features off (except photo stream)

It only does iWorks, i.e., Keynote and Pages and Numbers BUT! People can download them in PDF form. (actually it does a few more but they aren't popular word processing forms.)

Also, iWorks gives you an opportunity to store for 3rd party downloads separate from iCloud.

One major comment/question I have about storing documents in iCloud which are iWork documents is accessibility. It's great being able to work in docs from various devices and have them all sync. So put one in the plus side.
BUT! I have Keynote presentations that i present orally which would probably be the case for many others even in business, etc.
So, they have to make it so you can transmit these Keynote docs to an LED projector!! or otherwise they just sit there doing nothing!! ??
I can't even get them onto my Apple TV.
