Hi all
I noticed that every time I open a pdf with Preview.app (I didn't verified if it happens also with other file types), that file appears also in the preview folder in iCloud drive.
This is very, very, very annoying... I don't want a lot of "garbage" in iCloud drive, considering the few space on the cloud available...
Does it happens also to someone of you? Or is it a "feature"?

This happens to me too using OS X 10.11.6.

Interestingly, this only seems to happen with PDFs that are located somewhere ELSE in iCloud Drive. I noticed today that when switching the iCloud Drive -> Preview folder to List View, the files in the Preview bucket are actually aliases. Their icons don't seem to show the alias icon, so this isn't noticeable if you use Icon or Column view. It also states the original (generic) location after the filename in grey writing, and using Command-R (or File -> Show Original), it will take you to that original item.

I suppose that it is a feature, so that you can share everything that you do in Preview across multiple devices. But you can turn Preview off in iCloud settings.

I don't really understand the feature. Does Apple expect me to use Preview or iBooks to share PDFs? Only iBooks has an iOS app.

Turning it off seems like a nice and simple solution, but I wonder if that will also disable preference/signature syncing.
