Was wondering if someone could shed a little light on whats going on exactly with the "Keep Downloaded" feature.

1. Where are the files? They don't seem to be in any normal location in the file structure - only accessible from iCloud Drive, which makes it "feel" like it's not actually saved locally...? iCloud Drive isn't even in "Locations" in the side bar, its just a magical place...

2. Does Time Machine backup iCloud Drive? Or only backup any files that happen to be currently copied locally via "keep downloaded" or even just happen to be on your local iCloud Drive because you just used them...

3. Should I be thinking of iCloud Drive more as a special folder with a special location that can't be changed as opposed to thinking about it like its an actual "drive" which all live on the desktop...

Some 'after the fact' background: Im putting a large amount (about 500GB) of important business files onto my iCloud Drive and it's been amazing accessing them from home, work, other locations. It's truly the thing we've been dreaming of for 20 years. But I also want/need to keep these important files backed up via Time Machine and other methods, Carbon Copy Cloner for example. Obviously having files sync is amazing but we also need to keep continual backups going, so that's what im trying to understand a bit better.

Thanks!
