iCloud Drive App pdf issues

I've been having really strange experiences with the iCloud Drive App recently. It has tendency to open PDF files that i have stored there in Pixelmator on my phones (and no, none of these files are stored in the Pixelmator file). This has been happening exclusively on my iPhone, and I can't replicate it on my iPad and have no idea how to prevent it from happening. It's actually quite frustrating. Any suggestions?

I also have the same problem, quite annoying.
There's other treads about it, but unfortunately no real solution other than copy the pdf to another app like iBooks for viewing.
