iCloud Drive File Access on iOS 8

Hello everyone,

I just upgraded to iCloud Drive on my Mac running Yosemite Beta 5 and my iPhone running iOS 8 (the latest public release version). Is there any way currently to just access the files that are stored in iCloud Drive with a file browser? I'm considering switching my cloud storage from Google Drive to iCloud but being able to browse my files on my iOS devices is pretty crucial.

Based on the keynote I really expected Apple to introduce an iCloud Drive app, but they didn't. For whatever reason Apple feels file management is okay on a Mac and within a browser (iCloud.com) but it's considered evil on an iPhone or iPad. Go figure. So on iOS you can only manage your files through iCloud Drive enabled (updated) apps.

Does anyone know if Transmit for iOS supports iCloud Drive management? If so I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

You can do it with "Documents" by Readdle but until now it's a real pain in the ass. I don't know about any other capable iOS file browser and I have the feeling that downloads are a bit slow on Apples end. If you find a better app feel free to post it here.

Just tried "Documents" and it doesn't seem to be able to manage iCloud Drive. It does have its own iCloud Drive folder but that's just like Keynote and Pages limited to the own app.

However, you can import (any) files into the Document app from the general iCloud Drive folders. But there we are back to the initial issue having to move files in and out of apps instead of having them in one place.

Edit: It seems like you can't actually imort files. You can use the "open" dialog and browse iCloud Drive but there is no way to actually move files.

You can access other apps which use Document Picker and open documents outside iCloud Drive. So you can move files between apps and upload them on iCloud Drive. Actually there is no third part app that has full access to all apps with iCloud Drive support. Maybe in future
