I know there have been several posts on this over the years, but I've yet to see a satisfactory resolution. The issue is that periodically (a few times a month), iCloud Drive docs don't properly sync across my devices. I am set up to sync across a MBA, iMac Pro, iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Pro. All are on latest versions of Mac OS/iOS. For example, I update an Excel doc on the MBA and it does not sync on the iMac (or vice versa). Restart does not help. I can force a sync by saving a document, but that's not a "solution." Likewise, I can sign out of iCloud and back in, and that 'fixes' it, but it's a pain because documents are deleted and saved in an archive folder and must be moved. Again, it temporarily 'fixes' the problem, but is certainly not a real solution. In Mojave, it used to work to delete CloudKit files on the machine that wasn't syncing and do a restart, but it seems like that doesn't work anymore with Catalina. iCloud drive is great for my workflow when it works, which it does most of the time. It's just annoying not knowing for sure if everything is synced without checking the most recent document you've worked on.

Just curious if others have this issue and if anyone has come across a true fix. Thanks.

Does it sync slow or not at all? I often don't see documents show up on other devices, only after a longer time. My solution is to open the Files app on iOS and go to the directory where the documents should be. Most of the time, the documents are synced immediately. Of course this is also a workaround and not a real solution.

I've waited an hour or so, but I doubt longer than that. I know when it's working properly, the sync is within seconds. Just seems like Apple has struggled with cloud syncing going all the way back to MobileMe days.
